Thinking about doing the Disney College Program? Here’s why I think it’s worth every minute:

1. You Get a Front-Row Seat to Disney Magic

The program gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how the Walt Disney World parks and resorts run. You’ll learn how to be a cast member who brings Disney stories to life and creates lifelong memories for the guests you interact with. While many jobs are your classic food service, working a cash register, or custodial work, the magic of Disney is in every detail, from teamwork to guest interactions, each shift.

I worked as a Seater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While the job itself was underwhelming at times, the guest interactions consistently brought a smile to my face.

My absolute favorite was with a toddler who gave me an extremely detailed run-through of each Cars character his mom had just bought him. (In case you didn’t know, Jackson Storm’s rookie season wasn’t as good as Lightning McQueen’s, now a seven-time Piston Cup Champion.) It’s these moments that made it incredibly difficult for me to leave my program.

2. Learn Skills That Matter

Working at Disney is an amazing professional development opportunity and extremely fun! You’ll strengthen communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, all while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. These experiences look great on a resume and translate to any career.

As a CP specifically living at Flamingo Crossings Village, you also have access to a variety of resume-building and networking opportunities at a level I have never experienced elsewhere.

3. Meet People From All Over

The program attracts participants from across the country and around the world. My apartment alone had each person from Wyoming, Illinois, Florida, and New Jersey.

Living and working together creates a tight-knit community, and the friendships you build often last long after the program ends. You’ll share experiences, tips, and laughs as you navigate one of the busiest environments imaginable.

4. Immerse Yourself in the Parks and Resorts

Every day, you’ll walk through Disney’s meticulously designed spaces and see the magic up close. Whether it’s perfecting a dining experience, assisting guests, or helping a parade go off without a hitch, you become part of the story that makes Disney special.

5. Gain Perspective and Appreciation

Spending time in this environment gives you a new appreciation for the parks and the people who make them run. You’ll understand how much effort goes into every detail, from safety and logistics to guest happiness. It’s easy to leave the program feeling inspired, more confident, and energized to tackle your own goals.

6. Make Memories That Last a Lifetime

Beyond the professional skills and Disney knowledge, the program is just plain fun. From character interactions to park celebrations, every day offers new experiences. By the time you finish, you’ll have stories and memories that will stick with you forever.

I mean, who doesn’t want to brag about working at Disney World?

Final Takeaway:
If you love Disney, want a meaningful internship, or just want an experience that mixes professional growth with fun and friendship, the Disney College Program is absolutely worth it. I did it, and I can confidently say it’s an experience you won’t forget.
